Kitesurfing

You could probably say that kitesurfing became a sport/surfing discipline in the late nineties. I still remember the first years when we at Surfers Paradise started working with kites in the early 2000s. All the problems with equipment that didn't hold up and the fear that always arose when you were going to kite. The margins were small and accidents were common.

Today, kiting is something completely different - material development has made kiting a sport for everyone. A sport that is easy to learn and accessible to many, as long as there is an open beach and good wind.
