- How difficult is it to foil with a parawing compared to wingfoiling? Starting and generating speed requires more technique, but if you are an experienced foiler you will quickly learn to parawing. The parawing wing flies and has power in minimal wind, so you can easily lift in light wind.
- Does the parawing perform as well upwind as a wing? Yes, the parawing performs well upwind, although the technique is slightly different compared to using an inflatable wing.
- What size or type of board is best? To start with, we recommend a downwind board or a medium-length board with sufficient volume (about 10-20 liters above your body weight). A length of 5'7" to 7'0" is often ideal.
- Is the size/wind range of the parawing comparable to a wing? The parawing generally has better performance in light winds but somewhat less capacity in strong winds. Overall, the sail size to wind range is very similar between the two.
- Do you use a harness? A harness is not absolutely necessary, but longer lengths are recommended. Without a harness you will remain more flexible, but your arms will tire faster.
